Inspiration

Grief comes from the unfortunate experience of experiencing severe loss of events and people you deemed important, and when experiencing grief, it's an isolating thing to experience yourself. I have known people who tend to isolate themselves when dealing with grief for the worse of their mental health.

What it does

With Anchor, we intend to create a platform that allows people to either find a community to discuss their grief with or create a private message to send to their loved ones, community building to those who are going through their stages of grief, wherever in their journey it may be. People are able to connected based on ages ranges, cultural backgrounds, and the type of loss. They can send their message by writing a note, and sink the anchor to their beloved to have an everlasting message. They also get to add a flower to add sentiment to their note.

How we built it

We used Figma to create the entire project. We took inspiration from Pinterest.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges regarding the prototype flow, and continually trying to expand the idea of how people are able to connect and also alleviate through their grief experience. We understand grief is unique to each person, so we also had to consider that in mind with incorporating a community aspect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of being able to conceptualize, create a mobile prototype, and work through the user experience flow within the time constrain we had.

What we learned

We learned how to communicate our strong and weak points through the process and explain through any conflicting ideas.

What's next for Anchor - Share what weighs you down

We hope to partner with local Washington counties and WA.gov to start our program locally as a support platform for those who are specifically dealing with grief, and they're able to support our expansion and promotion through their websites.
