Inspiration

The idea to use government data came from Zane's past experiences working on it for projects relating to his passion for public transit.

What it does

Our project aims to use data from the federal government to identify factors that correspond to high rates of bird flu infection in poultry, cattle, wildlife, and humans. Data from thousands of counties is used to create a linear regression for each factor's potential influence on infection rates, and the factors with the most apparent and significant effect are used to predict the location of future outbreaks
