Our inspiration was via the Tech + Research Team; when analyzing the available data, we saw that IPv4 and IPv6 had different rates of blockages, and hoped to analyze these. We saw a discrepancy between the sites that were trying to be accessed and how those requests were handled, and we wanted to explore that further.
Looks at the differences between IPv4 and IPv6 measurements in US, China, Iran, Russia, Malaysia, and the Netherlands.
Built with Python and R Studio.
Worked through issues with the API and getting the data to parse.
Proud of the analysis and the potential implications of how this can be used. It was really interesting to see the differences in blockages and websites used as countries differed!
We hope to use this experience in our future endeavors, and provide an opportunity for future research in the subject.
