Inspiration

I was inspired by my own accidents and I would like to inform other drivers who may of been new like me of what they should avoid or be wary of.

What it does

My first graph show the number of deaths between the years of 1988 and 2019 according to each age group. My statistic test using t-test shows that normal weather was the highest cause of fatalities. And my last graph demonstrates that pm rush hour are the cause of the highest fatalities and has a slight increase in the most recent years.

How we built it

These were built in Jupiter using the libraries: pandas, numpy, Scipy, Matplotlib, and plotly.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge I ran into was not being able to combine multiple graphs into one for my first research question. Because the way my data was formatted, I was unable to do so. And because my data was formatted differently, it was a bit difficult to run some other statistical test like regression and etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am most proud of my bar graph using the plotly library. I was worried since I never used it before that something was going to go wrong and it was going to be difficult to complete.

What we learned

I have learned how to create multiple graphs and save into one image. I also learned how to complete a statistical analysis without it becoming too complicated.

What's next for Analyzing Fatal Traffic Accidents in the US

Future work can include reformatting the data and combining multiple columns into one. The next would be using a predicting model to estimate/predict how many traffic fatalities could occur in the future.
