Inspiration
Our inspiration stems from the profound need to understand and enhance diversity in our communities. We believe in the power of data-driven insights to foster inclusivity, which inspired the creation of "Analytix."
What it does
"Analytix" is a comprehensive web application that explores the nuances of diversity sustainability in American cities. It visualizes Shannon's Diversity Index data for 2000 and 2010, empowering users to track trends and make informed decisions. Additionally, the app offers detailed age breakdowns, enabling a deeper understanding of demographic dynamics.
How we built it
The data cleaning was done through Python, the graphs and maps were generated with Tableau, and the website was created with HTML and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble determining an accurate and fair measure for diversity but eventually found the Shannon Diversity Index after searching the internet.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in creating a user-friendly platform that transforms complex data into accessible insights. Our app's ability to empower users, fostering informed discussions and initiatives, stands as a testament to our team's dedication and expertise.
What we learned
Although most of our team members were familiar with Python data visualization libraries, we all got exposure to the dynamic nuances of Tableau.
