Inspiration
Problem-solving classes at university when we try to find similarities between solutions of fields that at first seem different to modify and adapt to come up with novel solutions
What it does
User inputs the problem (target) Set multiple choice questions for; Budget, the field of the problem, The user selects one or more objects from a set of funny keywords to use as analogies Using ML and google data to understand the source problem ( search for possible analogies of those keywords.) Best Analogy - Access similarities and differences between the two problems and give the best analogy. Store the analogies Presents the user with the best analogies of the objects they selected for the problem. Users will rank the analogies in order of their preference.
How we built it
We build the product based on the framework: https://hbr.org/2005/04/how-strategists-really-think-tapping-the-power-of-analogy, using powerpoint to design the interface of the website.
Challenges we ran into
We are beginners so we have no background in coding and programming We also have difficulties differentiating the term AI and machine learning, the technologies that we want to apply for the product.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finally came up with an idea, not perfect but at least we make it done. We also got to know some sponsors and other people as well as raise many questions to learn more
What we learned
Always narrow the scope of our problem. We cannot solve too vague and big problem. At first, we had an idea of developing a game but the concept is too complex to be executed in just 15 hours.
What's next for Analogy Finder
Our team plan to research more on AI and Machine Learning
