Inspiration

One of our team members, Georgia, brings invaluable tennis coaching experience to the table. Through her lenses in the athletic industry, we identified a significant gap that led to the inception of our project.

What it does

Annacritical is a comprehensive tracking software designed to meticulously record and package your match data into a convenient and easily accessible text file. It simplifies the process of data management for athletes and coaches alike.

How we built it

Our development process involved utilizing the Python programming language along with the Tkinter library. Additionally, we explored executable options to enhance user accessibility.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the project, we faced a series of hurdles. These included the complexities of learning and debugging Tkinter, effectively managing program variables, generating a unique project idea, and structuring data into a user-friendly format within the graphical user interface.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We take pride in our ability to bring this project to fruition despite having limited prior coding experience. Our most significant achievement lies in acquiring proficiency in using Python's GUI capabilities through Tkinter.

What we learned

We delved deep into Tkinter, expanded our knowledge of Python, and discovered the efficiency of Visual Studio Code extensions like Blackbox. This project has been a rewarding educational journey for us.

What's next for Anacritical

Our vision for Annacritical extends far beyond its current capabilities. In the pipeline, we have plans to develop graphical insights, long-term statistics, and personalized recommendations. As we grow, we aim to integrate APIs and databases for even more robust features. Additionally, we're exploring the potential of computer vision and AI to analyze games between players, making Annacritical an indispensable tool for athletes and coaches alike. Our journey has just begun, and the future looks incredibly promising.
