Inspiration
Previously, I had developed a dihybrid cross punnett square which helped the genetics students but later I felt that there needs to be a tool that not only takes Dihybrid crosses into consideration, rather needs to take more than 2 allele pairs, so I decided to go and make a more complex tool that can take upto 5 genes and make a punnett square based on them.
What this Punnett Square does?
So, It lets the user choose the type of square they want, like single allele pair, 2, 3, 4 or 5 allele pairs. Once they select an option they are then given more options to customize their generated punnett square such as changing the pre-defined alphabets being used in the square. The website also allows users to provide their own dominant allele. It also gives the users a table where phenotypic and genotypic ratios are given. Moreover, There's a download option for them so that they can get it in HD graphics and use it whereever they need to.
Challenges I ran into
So far, I was building simple tools that doesn't require much care but this time I took the challenge to develop something more complex in nature.
What's next for An Online Punnett Square Maker for genetic Crosses
I am trying to build another tool specifically used for generating allele frequencing in a cross.
