An AgentForce bot to File Income Tax Returns

Inspiration

In a densely populated country like India, filing tax returns is daunting—complex, confusing, and stressful for the average taxpayer. Enter AgentForce: your intelligent tax companion that simplifies the process, eliminates guesswork, and empowers users with real-time support.

What it does

It helps answer FAQs and assist an end user step-by-step, to complete their tax returns easily and confidently.

How we built it

We used Experience Cloud to build the Tax Filing Portal. The Portal gets the user's data from the Annual Information System(AIS) residing in the Financial Services Cloud. The knowledge base is hosted in Data Cloud. And AgentForce is used to render the Agentic Bot to answer the user's queries and assist the tax filing process.

Challenges we ran into

File upload option in the bot not working properly. We had to convert file from pdf to csv still no use.
Einstein trust layer not allowing user sensitive data to be rendered across the bot

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We implemented a workaround for file uploads by allowing users to input comma-separated data as plain text.
We also successfully deployed the bot to answer FAQs using the knowledge base.

What we learned

With RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), AgentForce can accurately answer hundreds of questions in a single session, by extracting information directly from PDF documents added to its Data Library.
Using NLP, we can interpret user prompts to trigger complex Apex classes, enabling dynamic, context-aware responses.
