Inspiration
My love for horror games that involve a hide and go seek game play inspired me to create this game. I wanted to explore the intersection of childhood innocence and fear, and how those two can exist side by side.
What it does
This game follows a young girl named Amy who in search of her missing plushies wanders into her closet only to find herself lost in a mysterious, haunted asylum. As the player navigates the eerie halls they must avoid a terrifying beast that patrols, all while trying to find her beloved toys and escape this nightmare world.
How we built it
The game was created with code blocks and custom trimesh imports on the computer and through the Meta quest 3 headset
Challenges we ran into
This was my first time creating a world using custom models made with Blender, so I had to quickly learn the basics.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud to have learned the basics of game development. Creating my game has been a rewarding learning experience. I mastered 3D modeling in Blender and integrated custom models into the game, developed an immersive world, and improved my problem solving skills.
What we learned
I gained hands-on experience with tools like Trimesh, which taught me what works and what doesn’t when building interactive environments. I've also learned how to manage time effectively, work under tight deadlines, and adapt to unexpected challenges.
