AmritaSuraksha, The police Assistant

I hereby mention my project as a police assistant. This is for the help of police night patrolling. The police can ensure the safety of people, especially women through the model.

Inspiration

We all are tired of hearing from the news of attack against women from the early 2000's. This can be under control if police can efficiently put eye on the streets. As a responsible citizen of this society, i can put the proposal from my mind, build it and view it comes true. Let our cities be smart cities.

What it does

Night patrolling of policemen are inevitable for our developing society. So making the patrolling more effective and efficient, AmritaSuraksha, the police assistant application can be used. This will access the cctv visuals of the street and through a model, it detects any violence and give an alert. Police officers can only login to the page and view the cctv visuals, alerts, locations and they can fix patrolling to that direction.

How we built it

We can build the model through machine learning, deep learning, computer vision technologies. A well efficient and user friendly interface should be there for the application, so the policemen can easily find the locations and take actions as soon as possible. The UI can be built using Django framework or simple html or the basic bubble.io operations.

Challenges we ran into

The most difficult challenge I faced was to access the model through the UI. I built the UI with bubble.io operations. The next difficulty was in building the model. Majority of the program is done using google colab in python.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Made my way to Python more attractive. Studied about the current social issues faced by the people, especially women. Listed out the solutions for different problems. Made models for some of the problems faced. Built UI for the applications.

What we learned

The most interesting thing I have understood by working on this project was There is always a solution for a problem. This makes me more confident in the workings. Learned to build an efficient UI frame. Working for the society is the prime factor an engineer or an aspirant should think of.

What's next for AmritaSuraksha, The police Assistant

This application I hereby displaying is not the final application for the project. So many changes and many models can be solved and implemented to make this app one of the efficient applications for the welfare of the people.
