Amplify

Inspiration

We were inspired by challenging ourselves with an ecommerce AI platform. Our team did not know how to use AI and Ecommerce at the same time. We only knew either one or the other but not both at the same time. We wanted to challenge ourselves to build something we were proud of that forced us out of our comfort zone.

What it does

Amplify analyzes shoppers interacting with the ecommerce website and based on what they do it changes the UI to accommodate and tailor the website towards them to incentivize them to buy more products on the website.

How we built it

We built it using Next.js for the coding framework as well as Amplitude for the main SDK to get the shoppers data and to determine what UI needed to be to fit the user. Finally we used Google Gemini API for the chatbot we have in our dashboard.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into the challenge of learning Amplitude and it was a new platform for us. Amplitude was a really powerful tool that helped a lot but there was a huge learning curve to it which we managed to get through.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were proud to learn Amplitude and how to utilize it pretty well. We were proud to learn such a unique and cool tool that would be very handy to use in the future.

What we learned

We learned how Amplitude worked and how to get live incoming data from website we attach it to. We also learned how to interpret it and create feature flags to act on certain information that Amplitude would give which allowed us to do really cool things like change the UI of a website based on Amplitude giving us a feature flag.

What's next for Amplify

The next thing for Amplify is to gather more data and have more test users so that Amplify can gain better information and make better decisions. Another thing we would want to do next is to find better ways to interpret data to make smarter choices as well.
