Inspiration
No one makes decisions in isolation. Our lives are connected to family, friends, and communities, yet useful information often stays scattered across individual notes and conversations. Among Agents explores how AI can support decisions grounded in these relationships while respecting each person’s privacy.
What it does
Among Agents helps people bring together information they choose to share within trusted circles. Everyday examples include planning a family weekend, deciding what to cook, coordinating school pickup, and finding time to visit relatives.
The central principle is simple: keep private information private, and share only what matters with the people you choose. Suggestions help people discuss their options; people make the final decisions.
Our current interactive prototype demonstrates these experiences using illustrative information.
What we learned
Useful AI needs social context as well as individual context. Designing the prototype reinforced how important it is to show who shared information, who can see it, and whether a proposed action has been agreed upon.
What's next for Among Agents
Next, we want to build real circle membership, secure private and shared storage, permission controls, and AI suggestions based on approved contributions, then test the experience with families.
Longer term, we envision simple devices and shared screens in homes and community spaces, making it easier to capture daily information and see shared plans and notices.
