Amma was the first of several models that I created for the Rigs Of Color project. My aim was to create models that showcase diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, and ways of life. Through this project, I intended to draw attention to the limited diversity in freely available rigs online and inspire others to create their own diverse characters.

I designed Amma to be used by animation students at WPI who are learning to make game-ready animations. Her entire structure was built using Zbrush. During her creation, I was also learning the proper blockout-modeling workflow, which required me to revisit the anatomy repeatedly to ensure accuracy.

Through this project, I gained knowledge not only about the modeling workflow but also about the importance of proper representation and attention to the little details that can often be overlooked during research. I am grateful for the experience and the knowledge I gained, particularly in handling Amma.

In the future, I hope to revisit the model and apply my current knowledge to improve her further, in addition to fixing her topology and developing some adorable animations.
