Inspiration

Under the current situation, elderly people are facing loneliness due to the restriction of visitors in nursing homes, making them feel excluded and left out of the outside world. This isolation could derive into a bigger problem, like depression and the deterioration of their general well-being.

Even in common times, without a crisis, it is hard for many elderly people to connect with their relatives: the majority do not have smartphones or tablets, and most of them are not digital users. Many seniors suffer from critical health problems - for example, dementia and Alzheimers disease - and mobility restrictions which makes it even more complicated for them to handle the interaction with existing devices/solutions to be connected with their families. There is a need for a solution that is as easy as possible to help them to connect with their relatives and friends. But many solutions are really expensive, still too complicated or lack the ability to learn and support their rehabilitation.
