Amigo Travel Planner was inspired by the difficulty many people face when planning trips like searching multiple websites, managing time, and choosing the best places within a limited budget. We wanted to create a single smart solution that simplifies travel planning and makes it accessible, especially for students and first-time travelers. Through this project, we learned how to design a real-world application using modern technologies, integrate AI APIs, and work effectively as a team. We improved our skills in problem-solving, API integration, UI design, and project collaboration while understanding how software can solve everyday problems. We built Amigo using a combination of frontend and backend technologies, focusing on a clean user interface and intelligent trip planning logic. The AI helps generate travel suggestions and itineraries by evaluating user preferences. One of the biggest challenges we faced was integrating AI responses smoothly and handling errors or incomplete data. Managing time, debugging issues, and coordinating as a team were also challenging, but overcoming them helped us grow both technically and personally.
