Inspiration

I am interviewing for a job at the firm and my inspiration was need for employment! However, when I started working with Alexa conversations, it turned out to be a great experience. I haven't been able to stop.

What it does

The skill simply gives you a drug recommendation based on your requirements. However, these are drugs that are in the pipeline which means that the world is yet to see them. This skill tells you what's coming in biotech.

How I built it

I followed the pet match tutorial and used node.js. I had a lot of help from the Alexa developer community, especially Kevindra.

Challenges I ran into

I was unable to get the description added to my audio response, after I get the drug recommendation. I also ran into multiple build issues in the beginning since I am new to this, but was able to solve them using the slack community support.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Just being able to complete one functionality has been a good experience for me. Of course, there is so much more to do!

What I learned

I am fairly clear on how to incorporate conversations in every skill I will work on.

What's next for Amgen Pipeline for Biotech

Adding the description functionality, automating data reload for the drug updates.
