I had a very long layover on the airport and did not know what the airport had to offer until a friend told me. I thought having a centralized app that also provides extra data would help improve my personal user experience and I would have a better image of the airlines if they provided this.
What it does
It unifies all the services that American Airlines has created such as airport navigation, flight details, etc. along with extra useful information that would be helpful to make my travel better and reduce the efforts that I would take searching for information manually.
How I built it
I built this app using Angular and the FlightEngine API by American Airlines.
Challenges I ran into
I ran into many UI challenges since I have a habit of getting the UI pixel-perfect and cannot proceed without having the UI fixed.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
One major thing that I am proud of, is that even if the app doesn't make it to the first place, it will surely be of use to me in my personal life as I tend to travel via flights very often.
What I learned
I learnt about various new programming and security concepts and I was also able to implement some of the security techniques learnt in the workshops from the hackathon.
What's next for American Airlines Centralized App
I plan to add more features and connect some of the buttons to their actual functions and see this app take off in real life!
