Inspiration

Having gone through countless interviews in the past, we've all wished we had someone in the field who could provide personalized guidance and mock interviews tailored specifically to our resume and job role. The traditional mock interviews often feel scripted and don't adapt dynamically to the nuances of our experiences or the specificity of the job description. We envisioned a solution that combines the convenience of technology with the insights of industry professionals.

What it does

a revolutionary interview preparation tool designed to elevate your confidence and readiness for your next big job interview. By simply uploading your resume and providing some details about the interview — like the company, position, and interview type — HireMind harnesses the power of advanced GPT technology to simulate a realistic interview experience. Tailored to your specific role and industry, it offers insightful questions and feedback, giving you a competitive edge. Prepare, practice, and perfect your interview responses with HireMind, your AI-backed interview coach.

How we built it

Our foundation is built on React, empowering our user-friendly front-end interface. We architected a dual-backend system that interacts seamlessly with ChatGPT through an API, allowing real-time stream communication. Despite the complexities involved, we were determined to foster an environment where the conversation flowed naturally, sidestepping the need to integrate websockets.

Challenges we ran into

We spent countless hours figuring out the stream portion of chat. Maintaining conversation with chat is extremely challenging without going into websockets.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As first-time hackers, we were proud of ourselves and excited by every step we made. We figured out how to implement text to speech and speech to text from Google's advanced cloud services. Furthermore, after hours of going back and forth and wrangling with the stream data, we finally achieved a working program that displays things in a text format. We were excited to be able to implement what we learned in the ChatGPT wrapper workshop and take it to a new level with using the GPT API to analyze pdf files of a resume.

What's next for America

Integration of TTS and STT. Setting up a visual AI that we can chat with for the interviewer. A profile with previous conversations and a score for how well one did on the interview.
