🙏 Inspiration

AmenAI was born out of a deep desire to merge technology with faith. In a digital world full of noise, we wanted to create a peaceful, spiritually uplifting space powered by AI — a place where users could pray, reflect, and grow in their walk with God. We noticed a gap in Christian-centered AI tools, especially for youth and families seeking positive, encouraging content. That inspired us to build a friendly, faith-first web experience centered on joy, healing, and community.

🛠️ How We Built It

We integrated:

  • Supabase for data storage, authentication, and file uploads (audio, images, prayers)
  • OpenAI for content moderation, generating prayers, sermons, devotionals, and podcast scripts
  • ElevenLabs for lifelike voice narration (our AI host "Grace")
  • Netlify for deploying the production site
  • Custom Edge Functions for podcast generation and content moderation

We focused on making it mobile-first, responsive, and installable as a Progressive Web App (PWA). It’s not in the App Store — instead, users can easily “Download to Home Screen” with on-screen instructions for both iPhone and Android.

🤯 What We Learned

  • How to scale AI workflows within Bolt's frontend environment
  • How to moderate AI-generated and user-submitted content safely
  • How to merge multiple ElevenLabs audio segments into a podcast episode
  • How to use Supabase for live data syncing and Edge Function orchestration
  • How to build a user-friendly, Christian-themed experience without distractions

🚧 Challenges We Faced

  • Keeping AI-generated content theologically sound and family-friendly
  • Audio segment timing issues during podcast playback (now fixed with segment-resume tracking)
  • Token limits when generating long-form content like 30-minute episodes
  • Managing spiritual tone consistency across different user prompts
  • Refining a seamless UI while staying true to a faith-first mission

AmenAI isn’t just an app — it’s a digital sanctuary.
Built during the World's Largest Hackathon, it represents a heartfelt experiment in what happens when AI meets grace, prayer, and purpose.
