Inspiration
The theme of the hackathon was Education and being able to get general information about a school without actually having to talk to a representative is easier
What it does
It has an Excel database that records the information about the school It is currently a terminal execution of the bot that when asked information about the school provides the accurate information from the database
How we built it
It is a programmed in python Excel backend so involved reading from a file
Challenges we ran into
The bot being able to pick up the key words from the input by the user and identifying them in the excel was the main challenge I also tried implementing the front end but i was not successful there
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The fact that i got the backend working is something i am proud of - I was learning Python in the process of building this bot as well
What we learned
I learned to code in python I have never coded in python so being able to build something and learn a new language side by side was fun
What's next for AmbassadorBot
being able to implement a front end and transferring the database from an excel file to the cloud would be the next steps to improve this project
