Check the price of an Amazon item and get an alert if it drops below a certain price
What it does
Amazon Price alert takes in user inputted URL, price floor, and email address and sends an email to the given email if the price of the given URL of the Amazon product falls below the price floor it by either a sale or reduction in price.
How we built it
We used both python to write our code and HTML for our front-end together to create our Amazon scraper. We had initial trouble with front-end because all three of us have little knowledge on front-end and mostly work with back end. We got much needed help from the mentors and would've really struggled without them.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really happy with our final product because this is the first hackathon for all of us. We are all exited to do this again in the future because of how much we learned and the experience overall.
What's next for Amazon Price Alert
This can be also grown for integration with other websites and eventually can be turned into an extension that you can directly do from the website the customer is buying from instead of going to another website.
