Inspiration

I was inspired by the cluttered nature of Amazon's current landing page, with its excessive buttons and overwhelming text. I wanted to create a more streamlined and simplified version of the page while maintaining the brand image that Amazon is known for.

What it does

My redesign focuses on decluttering the landing page while preserving the essential elements. I have made the icons in the header and images below responsive to ensure a seamless browsing experience.

How we built it

I began by prototyping the redesign on paper, sketching out the new layout and structure. We then implemented the mock-up using vanilla CSS and JavaScript, carefully considering the user experience and visual appeal.

Challenges we ran into

As this was my first Hack Week, we faced time constraints and felt the pressure to deliver a polished result. However, we embraced the challenge and used it as an opportunity to grow and learn.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am particularly proud of the tag bar that I created as an overlay on the hero image. It adds a touch of aesthetic appeal while maintaining functionality.

What we learned

During the development process, I refreshed our knowledge of flexbox and utilized it extensively for the navigation bar, tag bar, and image collections. It was a valuable opportunity to reinforce our skills and apply them in a practical project.

What's next for amazon-landing-page-redesign

In the future, we plan to enhance the responsiveness of the design, especially for mobile environments. We will continue refining and iterating on our redesign to provide an even better user experience.
