Inspiration

Have a long experience in cultural heritage. (Historical) people are one of the most popular and fascinating subjects to explore. To engage with different types of users, it is always good to: 1) have fun elements 2) relate to something happening now 3) let users decide what to do with the app.

What it does

A mobile app to re-generate/re-storytell real news from perspectives of different people. Users can specify a person (historical, fictitious, living person etc) and AI will generate three articles based on real news found on the new site. Users can compare the article and the source news.

This is a mockup based on an interesting concept. Unfortunately, not everything is working as intended at the moment due to time constraints (e.g., comparing/verifying articles with original news, AI error handling etc). But, I'm happy to improve the app over time and get support from users and collaborators!

Because of this condition, one old version is also include below to show the code progress, and, in case, one is not working.

How we built it

Few-shots prompt engineering with Bolt and small local coding afterwards (to include APIs and Bolt logo)

Challenges we ran into

API keys need to be added manually It is hard to understand why the web preview works, but the mobile preview does not work It is hard to understand why the app works in the local environment but does not work when deployed in Bolt Understanding Typescript without prior experience

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Bolt can create a nice mockup Unique idea and concept

What we learned

Bolt is amazing to build something from scratch without coding, but there is a lot of work afterwards. If there is no coding skill, it is hard to make it work Need a lot of instructions to build something proper and specific Need a lot of iterations to fine-tune
