I started using Spring AI and needed to call Amap. But Amap’s official MCP wasn’t giving me the control I wanted. Their API calls are limited — and once you go over, they charge you real money. That’s when my wallet started screaming.
So the idea came: Make my own MCP server, add caching, and keep a tight grip on how many times Amap is called. Save requests, save money. Smart and cheap — just like a proper engineer solution.
