Inspiration
I've always had a great love and fondness for music videos as a storytelling platform. With the current capabilities of AI tools, the ability to explore and create in this style has become a favorite creative outlet for me, allowing me to explore fascinating blends of music and visuals.
What it does
I enjoy placing my music videos in an alternate timeline as if they exist in reality (even being played on MTV)
How I built it
I start with a general thematic set of visuals created in Midhourney and choose images I feel can convey energy or emotion when animated. For this project, I then animate them in Midhourney as well, which helps maintain some consistency in style and movement. I then let the set of visuals inspire me for a music genre I feel best fits. I work back and forth with Chat GPT to build some lyrics that loosly fit the aesthetic (I like to keep them vague) and then I craft multiple prompts in Suno to get eventually something I think fits. I bring this all into Adobe Premiere where I edit, add any transition effects that feel necessary and do some additional color correcting. Finally I take the exported video into Topaz Video to upscale to 4k and add any minor sharpening adjustments.
Challenges we ran into
Occasionally I will need some additional transition footage, but generally the process is quite enjoyable and smooth.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I feel like the final product really feels like a true 'music video'
What we learned
As AI tools increase capabilities, I find it more and more compelling to create this style of output.
