Inspiration

Months after having done the volunteering, we felt the need to continue helping even from our city, where we realized about three big problems; the difficult access to the small towns of the south of Morocco, the distrust and / or lack of information with which most of the volunteers signed up, and the fact of not knowing the group until the moment of arrival. All this prompted us to create a platform that solved these problems.

What it does

It is a platform that allows you to inform yourself about what volunteering entails and the most important aspects to take into account, by the hand of previous volunteers and organizers, as well as look for flights with the rest of the members who, like you, will perform the volunteering from the same city.

How I built it

It is a platform made with REACT that consumes the data from the Skyscanner API for extracting information from everything that refers to flights. It also connects to the Typeform API to connect the user with other users and organizers in a very nice and simple way, such as Videoask

Challenges I ran into

FACEBOOK

The idea is to connect the group of people who carry out the volunteering, so that there is a chance to share sensations, ideas, costumes, before the volunteering, as well as facilitate an easy and pleasant communication path and with the communicators.

SKYSCANNER

The combination of flights to get to Taznaqt from Spain is complicated, because of the difficult combination, frequency and high prices. It is worth noting that the platform is connected to it by the Skyscanner API.

TYPEFORM

In order to connect both the organizers and the rest of the volunteers, we have used Typeform libraries, the standard form that allows a simple and pleasant registration of VideoAsk that allows a simple and pleasant communication between organizers, volunteers and users.

Opentrends

We firmly believe that the best way to start changing the planet is through the formation of people, and that is where we provide value, training and helping the needy, as well as helping associations like this to reach more people, which you can see that without a consumerist model you can also live.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud to finish a project in such a short time and that it is also a project like this, which brings value, and in which we will continue working on.

What I learned

We have learned to use typeform forms and VideoAsk, as well as the new Skyscanner API. We have also gone deeper into the React ecosystem than we went before.

What's next for Amal Taznaqt Volunteers

There is still a lot of work to do, as we have developed it on a weekend. From now on, we will talk with those responsible for the Amal Taznaqt association to carry out a more in-depth study of their needs, to see how we can collaborate in the best way.
