Traveling to Spanish-speaking countries or communicating with Spanish speakers can be challenging for many people. I noticed that most language apps focus on vocabulary and grammar drills, but real-life conversation needs more practice and listening. I wanted to create a platform where learners could practice Spanish in a fun, engaging, and practical way—using music, stories, and real conversations.

What it does

Amalie AI Spanish Learning helps users master Spanish through interactive voice content, original music, daily videos, and engaging stories. Learners can listen and practice pronunciation, pick up new vocabulary while relaxing with music, read and listen to stories at their own pace, and watch daily videos about grammar, culture, and common expressions. The platform provides a supportive environment for anyone looking to build real conversational skills in Spanish.

How I built it

I built this platform using Bolt.new , React for the frontend, Supabase for authentication and database management, and integrated ElevenLabs AI for natural voice generation. The website uses Framer Motion for smooth animations and an intuitive, modern UI. I created original music tracks and curated stories and videos tailored for language learners. All content is optimized for both web and mobile for easy access anywhere.

Challenges I ran into

Balancing content types: Finding the right mix of music, voice, stories, and video content that keeps learners motivated and engaged.

Voice quality: Ensuring that the AI-generated voices sound natural and are clear for all types of learners.

Personalization: Building features so learners can practice at their own pace and level.

Technical hurdles: Managing authentication, audio/video streaming, and making sure everything works smoothly across devices.
