Inspiration

We do not believe public review any more. We need comment and advice by our friends even though the place is rated 5 star.

What it does

Starting with location and interest, this system returns hot spot with Amadeus and GoogleMap API. User can ask and reply recommendation based on the spots.

How we built it

Read through the API doc and create UX scenario. At first we suppose to use 2 Amadeus APIs, Points of Interest and Trip Parser. Trying two API, we found Trip Parser is not covered by official gem for rails... We gave up Trip Parser and redesign UX/UI for Point of Interests.

Challenges we ran into

  • Fully utilize results of Amadeus API and Google Map API
  • User friendly UI (user do not need login, minimum input field, etc)
  • Less team member
  • Deployment...
  • Mail box integration (not completed)

Accomplishments that We've proud of

  • We completed MVP anyway!

What We learned

  • Get things done
  • Old style frontend coding is still worth to use in short term development.
  • Active mail in rails

What's next for Amadeus Recommendation System

  • Asynchronous processing
  • Write Trip Parser gem
  • Complete original UX (Recommendation on actual booking confirmation)
  • More flexibility on recommendation (not only Amadeus API)
