Inspiration

With old age comes many problems, and one common one is Alzheimer's. Personally, we have seen this problem right in front of our eyes. Through our grandparents. We saw them struggle and slowly forget the things they wanted to remember. This is where our inspiration sparked. We wanted to create an easy to use platform for the elderly to remember important things in their life.

What it does

Provide Alzheimer's patients a way to easily keep track of their day, family members, and important life moments, and also an accessible caretaking service.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build this website through Visual Studio Code(VSC). Our group split the tasks between content, general aesthetics, and formatting of the web page.

Challenges we ran into

In the beginning, we struggled with creating a chic navigation bar. We ran into problems with having the navigation bar in one line. We overcame this challenge by using external resources and putting our heads together to create the final navigation bar.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is the second hackathon our group has been to. At the first hackathon, our end product did not look professional and was not to the best of our capabilities. The accomplishment that we are most proud of is how much we improved since last time. We worked together in an efficient manner and managed our time wisely.

What we learned

We learned more JavaScript during this project. Such as, how to save the information from a user form and print it.

What's next for Alzheimer's Advisers

In the future we plan to..

  • send email and text reminders to the user
  • have a favorite memories section to document important life milestones
  • provide a mini task every day to slowly help remember simple things
