Always High! : A College Help App

An app to help college students save time by looking for timetable, scheduled classes, links and activities, upcoming submissions and subject related resources hassle free!

Inspiration

In the online mode of education, we the students are confused by working on many different platforms. The main problem in using all these different platforms is that we have to check many different places from time to time for quizzes, assignment submissions, timetable changes and many more. This app is our attempt to reduce stress and save time so that we can be more productive.

What it does

We have developed an app that can be used to solve the problem described above and on top of that it has many more features which will ease out the learning experience of the students in online mode.

To solve the problem, our app has a notification Board that notifies the students about the upcoming quizzes and assignments that are pending. The app also reminds you of the ongoing class and also provide you with the meet link of the same.

Sometimes the faculty may postpone or prepone the class and for that, we have given them edit access to the timetable. If any changes are made to the timetable all the students in the following batch will get informed via a notification in the app.

Accomplishments that we are proud of!

This is our second Hackathon. And also, the first one in which we made both frontend and backend.

Challenges we ran into

It was our first time we tried to make a back end , it was full of difficulties and errors. But some how we did it will sleepless night and sleepy days. Other most prominent error we got in starting was merge error in GitHub and was mainly due to our improper task distribution and lack of communications. But later we overcame it.

What we learned..

We learned many things during this period of time; Team work, Time Management, Making and Use of API , Making Databases, Backend and Frontend along with the way to link them, etc.

What's next for Always High, A College Help App

  1. Resources for the preparation will be added which includes notes, useful videos, important web pages, previous year papers and much more.
  2. Assignment submission will be added on this app itself.
  3. Notifications for Extra/Fun activities {All events-Non academic} (club events, scheduled occasion celebrations, birthdays)
