Inspiration
I wanted to make a platform where students can help each other . Peer to peer platform for everything.It is the first platform which will be university specific.
What it does
Almunite is an amazing online source for classroom notes, practice worksheets and study guides. Our goal is to enable students to learn faster, so they have more time to focus one personal endeavors.
We understand that school life is stressful and balancing curriculars with extra-curriculars can be cumbersome. This site allows students to exchange valuable information that can potentially increase their speed of gaining knowledge. Students who have already taken the courses share tips, insights and notes to help you succeed academically. The material available on Alumnite is meant to be specific to your school.
Just like in a classroom we encourage you to lend a helping hand by sharing relevant course information. Alumnite utilizes Stu-coins that can be earned by uploading your notes and spent to get other students’ notes.
How we built it
I used php , Js , bootstrap , css, html to build this.
Challenges we ran into
The challenging part was the Stu-Coin Algorithm.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Students can upload notes , if they are accepted by a moderator they receive coins and then they can use those coins to download study material they require.
What we learned
Programming is not knowing everything , its knowing how to google correctly and be efficient with data structures and algorithms.
What's next for Alumnite
We are planning to make a question and Answer discussion form where people could ask questions from the peers of their university and whoever answers get Stu-Coins. Moreover the future plans is also a market place for college students specific to their university and student rentals and car pooling.It could be a one shop stop for College Students Catering their all needs.
