AltaZero – The Wellness Oracle

AltaZero aims to operationalize lifelong well-being for everyone, starting with fitness. We’re building an AI “oracle”—a hyper-personal coach that understands each person’s unique context, behavior, and goals, then delivers custom-tailored, science-backed action plans for body and mind.

Inspiration

We saw that most people fail not due to laziness, but because existing fitness/wellness advice is generic, overwhelming, and inflexible. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to actionable, evidence-based guidance—no research or planning required.

What We Built

• Conversational AI Coach (SMS/call, no app): Delivers real-time, personalized fitness routines, nutrition, sleep, and mental guidance.
• Research & Reasoning Engine: Continuously adapts recommendations to each user’s needs—schedule, goals, injuries, motivation, and even mood.
• Finite-State Machine Backbone: Guarantees every user gets a seamless, stepwise, outcome-driven coaching experience.

Approach

AltaZero starts with fitness, but our tech is designed for whole-person wellness: nutrition, sleep, mindset. Our AI rigorously cross-references your situation with scientific literature and expert knowledge, so advice is always personal, adaptive, and right for you.

What We Learned

• Personalization Drives Action: People stick with habits when coaching adapts—instantly, nonjudgmentally—to their real-life constraints.
• Automation Unlocks Scale: Our FSM and reasoning engine allow deeply individualized coaching, without manual curation.

Challenges

• Context Understanding: Extracting actionable insights from free-form user input and translating that into concrete recommendations.
• Maintaining Empathy at Scale: Ensuring motivation and feedback is always supportive and human—even when automated.
