Inspiration
The inspiration for Alphabuddy AR came from the desire to make learning visual. Some people don't experience mental imagery making it harder for people to imagine and visualise, especially in subjects like Mathematics. Additionally, We also noticed that traditional alphabet books, while essential for early education, often lack the excitement and interactivity that can captivate young learners. We wanted to bridge the gap between traditional education and cutting-edge technology.
What it does
Alphabuddy AR is a groundbreaking software that leverages augmented reality (AR) to enhance the learning experince by creating a 3d model and an explanation video on top of the page you scan. When a book page featuring some content and pictures is scanned with our app, it comes to life! The app generates AI-driven videos that explain each letter, along with AR objects that add a fun and interactive dimension to the learning process. Children can explore, interact with, and gain a deeper understanding of each letter in a way that was never possible before.
How we built it
We built Alphabuddy AR by combining the power of computer vision, artificial intelligence, and AR technology. Our app utilizes image recognition algorithms to identify the book page and then overlays the AI-generated videos and AR objects on the screen. We developed the software for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring a wide reach for our target audience.
Challenges we ran into
Hardware Compatibility: Ensuring the AR product works seamlessly across various devices and operating systems. Content Creation: Developing a diverse and comprehensive library of explanatory videos and 3D models for a wide range of subjects and textbooks. User Engagement: Designing an intuitive and engaging user interface that caters to different learning styles and age groups. Technical Performance: Optimizing the app for real-time AR rendering without significant delays or high battery consumption.
