Inspiration

A report say "Every day, almost 3,700 people are killed globally in crashes involving cars, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, or pedestrians." Government data identifies driver behavior or error as a factor in 94 percent of crashes, and self-driving vehicles can help reduce driver error. So, I decided to make a self-driving Bike.

What it does

Alpha-bike is a smart self driving and self balancing bicycle. It also have auto pick up feature where you can assign location to the bike to pick up you and your bike arrives at your location. More Features of Alpha-Bike are given below:

Features of Alpha-Bike:

Self driving: The bike has self driving technology where the bike can drive on it's own.

Self balancing: The bike has self balancing technology where the bike will not able to fall off.

Auto Pickup: It has a Map feature where you can see the places you want to travel and You can choose the place where bike needs to pick up you.

Vehicle sensor: I have designed a sensor where the bike identifies the vehicles and stop 5 meters apart.

Music and Call: You can listen to music and you can attend and answer to the calls while you are riding

Voice Assistant: You can use voice assistant to make calls or to play music.

Fingerprint Lock: The bike unlocks with your fingerprint or you can activate the bike using your phone.

Distance Travelled: You can also find the total distance you have covered by the Bike.

How we can build it

Self Driving: Bike rely on sensors, actuators, complex algorithms, machine learning systems, and powerful processors to execute software. Bike create and maintain a map of their surroundings based on a variety of sensors situated in different parts of the vehicle. Radar sensors monitor the position of nearby vehicles. Video cameras detect traffic lights, read road signs, track other vehicles, and look for pedestrians. Lidar (light detection and ranging) sensors bounce pulses of light off the bike’s surroundings to measure distances, detect road edges, and identify lane markings. Ultrasonic sensors in the wheels detect curbs and other vehicles when parking. Sophisticated software then processes all this sensory input, plots a path, and sends instructions to the bike's actuators, which control braking.

Self Balance: It relies on a variable rake angle of the front wheel and a motor for the handlebar to balance itself. The concept works in a way where the wheelbase extends to achieve a positive rake angle when the motorcycle is moving at a relatively faster speed, whereas, a negative angle tightens the wheelbase for the motorcycle to move around at slow speeds and to tackle sharp turns. It work on the principle gyroscopes

Location: Using GPS we can locate the places. And bikes comes to pick up you.

Vehicle Sensor: Using radar sensor and camera bike can detect the vehicles and the bike stops 5 meters apart from the vehicle

Wheel Encoder: For speed control. Each wheel encoder is used to count the number of times the motor (left or right) has rotated. This can be used to calculate the distance and speed that the wheel has driven or turned.

Music and Call: By connecting bluetooth to the cycle speaker you can hear music and attend and answer the calls while you ride.

Distance Travelled: By using digital odometer you can able see the distance covered by the bike.

Fingerprint Lock: By using DFRobot Fingerprint Sensor we can unlock the bike.

Battery: We can charge the bike battery by solar power or by charging

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Most mothers used to pick up their children from school even if they have important work using Alpha-bike they can auto pick up their children and track using GPS. And most of us will use phone while riding it may lead to accident. I was proud to say that it can be avoided using Alpha-bike.

What we learned

I learned the principles of self-driving vehicles and I learned more about the features by how it works and what are the uses and how we can implement it.

What's next for ALPHA BIKE

Next I planned to make a sample working model which we can use it in our daily lives.
