Inspiration
The organizers for the election volunteers had issues with their communications to the volunteers.
What it does
It connects organizers with volunteers via Facebook after filling out a form hosted elsewhere. The data from forms is stored onto a database allowing for easy access to volunteers. Facebook Messenger is used as the primary form of communication for the volunteer and organizer allowing for rapid responses between the two parties.
How we built it
The database uses postgresql and grails for managing the site. It connects to the Facebook API
Challenges we ran into
Finding time between work, school, and personal life was a difficult proposition. Since two of the members have full-time jobs and one is a full-time student, the amount of time available during the week is limited to mainly weekends. Because of this, it is difficult to connect the various parts of the project.
