Inspiration
The inspiration behind our app is to provide assistance to orphanages and old age homes in need.
What it does
Our app facilitates charitable donations to these establishments, with four main features: charity donation, community posting, emergency fundraising, and educational support for orphans. We ensure trustworthy donation transactions by verifying databases. Our theme, "Heart Reach," allows donors to book slots for visits to these facilities, organize events, provide educational mentorship, and offers a map for locating nearby orphanages or old age homes. The community posting feature resembles Instagram, showcasing the impact donors have made on individuals' lives.
How we built it
We designed our prototype using Figma and plan to develop the app using Flutter and Python.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was defining and refining the app's user flow and navigation to ensure it is intuitive and user-friendly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in providing aid to those in need through donations of clothes, shelter, food, etc. Contributing to various causes and helping others in different ways brings us a sense of fulfillment and prosperity.
What we learned
We learned the importance of user-centered design by prioritizing functionality and user experience in our app prototype. Through iterative testing and feedback, we improved the app's interface, making it more intuitive for users.
What's next for ALMS
Moving forward, we aim to transition from the prototype phase to full-scale development. This involves refining the user interface, enhancing functionality, and conducting extensive user testing. Our ultimate goal is to launch the app, gather user feedback, and continue iterating for ongoing improvement.
