Inspiration

The full-bodied flavor of toasted almonds, the flavorful tang of plums

What it does

Provides a therapeutic experience to any visitor.

How we built it

We registered a domain name, hosted it with firebase, and developed with HTML/CSS.

Challenges we ran into

Installation of angular.js and npm (ran into permissions issues with shell), submitting txt records, both very time consuming road-blocks.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Deploying our first site via firebase, and coming out of the hackathon inspired and with greater tools at our disposal.

What we learned

How to make a website, and of the wide variety of tools and resources out there that can help with web development.

What's next for almondplum

Animated, giant 3d almonds and/or plums that users generate by interacting with the site. The site's content might also change seasonally to reflect the blooming patterns of almonds/plums -- it would be nice to generate graphics of almond/plum flowers blossoming (with this site as inspiration -- http://wildflower.resn.co.nz). Hoping to experiment with bootstraps and packages (such as createJS) in the future to make this happen.
