Inspiration

I am 18 years old, from Egypt, with no laptop and no team. Just a phone and a dream to build my own AI from scratch.

What I Built

Almo AI is a personal AI assistant that:

• Searches Wikipedia & DuckDuckGo in real time
• Writes code in Python, JavaScript, and HTML
• Remembers your conversations
• Calculates math expressions
• Learns facts about you over time
• Works on both mobile and desktop

How I Built It

Everything was built on my phone using:

• Pure HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Wikipedia & DuckDuckGo APIs
• localStorage for saving conversations
• Netlify for free hosting
• Google Colab for Python prototyping

No laptop. No IDE. No team. Just a phone.

Challenges

Debugging and designing on a small phone screen was the biggest challenge. Every task that takes minutes on a laptop took hours on a phone.

What I Learned

That limitations are not walls — they are doors. Anyone, from anywhere, can build something real.
