Inspiration
Millions of people around the world struggle with getting complete nutrition, not because of a lack of food, but because they don’t know how to use what they already have. Many households waste food because they don’t realize its nutritional value or how to combine ingredients to achieve a balanced diet.
I wanted to create a simple, accessible app that helps anyone, students, families, or people in low resource environments, turn ordinary ingredients into nutritious, complete meals. AllFoodNutry was inspired by the idea that sustainable nutrition starts with smarter use of available food.
What it does
AllFoodNutry helps people get complete nutrition from the foods they already have at home.
The app allows users to: Scan or manually enter ingredients Instantly see the nutrition profile of those foods Identify missing nutrients (iron, B12, protein, vitamins, etc.) Get intelligent suggestions for foods that can “fill the gaps” Build balanced meals using a Smart Meal Builder
AllFoodNutry makes healthy, sustainable eating easier, without requiring expensive groceries.
How we built it
Designed UI screens in Figma.
Challenges we ran into
Designing an interface that works on small screens while displaying many nutrient values
Ensuring suggestions remain realistic based on common, affordable foods
Figuring out how to visually represent “nutrient gaps” in a friendly way
Keeping the app beginner-friendly without oversimplifying information
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A clean, modern design that works on both small and large screens
What we learned
How to combine sustainability principles with practical nutrition
How UI/UX can significantly affect user motivation
How to use Figma more effectively for fast visual prototyping
What’s next for AllFoodNutry
Adding AI for ingredient recognition from photos
Providing low cost recipe suggestions based on local food prices
