Allergy Alert

Pros Create an application that personalizes and/or optimizes the ecommerce shopping experience of a consumer.

What it does

Our project allows users to find food products based on their preferences and allergy information. They can search for a particular food type and see the available products that do not contain the selected allergy-causing ingredients.

How we built it

We used ReactJS, HTML, CSS, and Replit, which made it easy to set up our environment and focus on writing code.

Challenges we ran into

Half of our teammates were unfamiliar with JavaScript, so we guided them to code for the simple functions of our program. This project was an excellent way for them to get introduced to a new programming language with which they did not have much prior experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We allowed the users to choose categories to filter by and display a sample JSON response.

What's next for Allergy Alert

The ability to display organized, easy-to-read search results as a list of boxes with the respective food item icon next would be next. Additionally, we would also like to connect it to the API and connect grocery items to locations users can buy the items.
