Inspiration
Shortly after becoming a dad, our child was diagnosed with multiple allergies. Tracking symptoms, reactions, and timelines quickly became overwhelming, scattered (handwritten) notes, forgotten details, and constant stress. I realized I needed a simple tool to keep everything in one place. That’s how this idea was born: a baby allergy symptom tracker app, built out of personal need.
What it does
Allergee is a simple yet powerful app that helps parents track allergy symptoms in their babies. It allows users to log reactions by attaching photos, and add notes, making it easier to spot patterns and share clear info with doctors.
How we built it
The first version was end-to-end generated using a single AI prompt via @boltdotnew pretty quick. From there, using bolt.new I refined the UX and features to improve focus on: fast logging, visual evidence, and organized history.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was narrowing down features to keep the app lightweight but useful. I also wanted to avoid overcomplicating the interface, clarity and ease-of-use were key, especially for stressed parents.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Turning a personal struggle into a working app in such a short time was incredibly rewarding. The fact that it started from one prompt and became something genuinely useful is something I’m proud of. I can use the app already in production.
What we learned
I learned that even simple ideas can become powerful tools when driven by real need, and that bolt.new makes it easy to prototype and (re)build with focus.
What's next for Allergee - a baby allergy symptom tracker app
Next up: going to production to help every parent out there. Gathering feedback from users and focus on the next steps. Also some additional features: profile support for multiple children, symptom history graphs, and better sharing tools for pediatricians. I’ll also explore reminders and smarter suggestions based on symptom patterns. -> would be incredible, right?!
