Inspiration

The inspiration came from the idea of food as a universal connector. Meals bring people together, spark conversations, and create shared memories. I wanted to translate that social experience into an AR game that feels fun, playful, and competitive.

How the Game Works

The game uses Face Tracking to detect mouth position, allowing burgers to fall from the top of the screen and be “caught” when the player opens their mouth. Each successful catch increases the score. To extend the fun beyond solo play, I integrated the Leaderboard Component, so players can see their scores ranked alongside their friends. This can bring communities closer together by allowing friends to compete and celebrate wins together.

Connection Theme

This game connects people through friendly competition on the leaderboard, turning play into a shared social experience. It connects communities by allowing food brands to host challenges where their regulars can participate, with prizes for top scorers that foster loyalty and engagement. By combining face tracking, AR, and gamified leaderboards, the lens bridges culture and technology using food, a universal connector, to creatively bring people together through play.

Lens Roadmap & Monetization

I would monetize the lens by partnering with food brands and restaurants that want to drive engagement around their menus. Instead of generic burgers, players could catch branded food items (e.g., a signature burger or meal). The leaderboard system creates opportunities for sponsored challenges, where the top scorers can win discounts, free meals, or exclusive brand rewards. This ties gameplay directly to brand loyalty and customer retention.

Next Phases of Development

  • Phase 1: Partner with a Brand
Collaborate with a food brand so that instead of generic burgers, players catch branded menu items.

  • Phase 2: Smoothen Game Mechanisms
Refine the face tracking and scoring system to make catching food feel more natural and responsive.

  • Phase 3: Add Fun Rewards
Introduce playful effects and mini-rewards when players win, such as confetti bursts, funny animations, or branded AR stickers.
