Inspiration
When I was in high school, there was no centralized place for all the resources in New Brunswick. With this site, all of the helpful resources that is provided to the youth of New Brunswick will be more easily available to everyone!
What it does
Updates the community on any upcoming events from non-profits, will contain a resources tab for applying to college, financial literacy, and also include a section in which help parents who don't speak english learn english so that they are able to help their children in school.
How I built it
I used HTML5 and CSS. Javascript was used to implement the twitter scroll bar.
Challenges I ran into
The first challenge that I have is making the footer sticks to the bottom of the page. The biggest challenge was time management, I was so focused on the CTF that I was not able to hand in the project on time. Although I was not judged, I still want to continue this project.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Building this website in a matter of hours by myself. This is the first website I have built and designed.
What I learned
I learned a lot about HTML + CSS. I also learned to properly allocate enough time for the actual project!
What's next for All Things New Brunswick
The next steps are to create a mailing list, translate the website in spanish, fix any small design issues, and publish the website!
