All In Wine

Inspiration

As a server who enjoys wine, I’ve experienced how difficult it is to confidently recommend wines to guests. Wine lists can be overwhelming for both staff and customers, especially in busy restaurant environments. We wanted to create a tool that gives people the guidance of a sommelier so they can better understand wine and enjoy it without intimidation.

What it does

All In Wine is an AI-powered assistant that helps servers recommend wines with confidence and helps guests quickly find wines that match their meal, taste, or occasion.

How we built it

We built All In Wine as a full-stack web application that integrates AI to generate wine recommendations. The app combines a responsive front-end interface with backend logic that processes user inputs and delivers personalized wine suggestions.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge was managing API keys and integrating external AI services. We also worked through UI design issues to make the app intuitive and fast, and we had to ensure the experience worked smoothly across desktop and mobile devices.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We’re proud of building a functional AI product in a short time while collaborating effectively as a team. We were able to combine our different skills to turn an idea into a working prototype.

What we learned

Through this project we learned how to collaborate using Git and GitHub, manage version control as a team, and work with backend technologies and AI tools to power a real application.

What’s next for All In Wine

Next we want to refine the user experience, improve recommendation accuracy, and add more features that connect the app more closely with restaurants and wine programs.
