Inspiration
Our inspiration came from first-time gym goers (i.e., beginners) who face issues when visiting the gym. They are mostly confused, stressed, and unsure of the actions they are to take when using equipment.
What it does
ALIGN is a wearable pair of smart glasses that helps users detect and correct body misalignment during exercise in real time. This enables first-time gym users to understand equipment, gain more body awareness, and develop spatial awareness. ALIGN is connected to a wearable device that tracks, visualizes & stores metrics.
How we built it
We built it using Figma & Figma Make. First, we researched the problem to understand the causes and effects, brainstormed solutions, drafted ideas, and then prototyped them in Figma Make.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was the visualization screen (i.e., the interaction interface) that the user sees during their exercise.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to overcome the challenge and prototype the core idea of our solution.
What we learned
How to quickly ideate, task division & prioritization, and also finding the needed information or help (eg, reaching out to mentors as needed).
What's next for ALIGN Glasses
The next phase would be to link the wearables together and ensure a seamless transition between interfaces for the user.
