Galaxy Center: A Cryptography Game
A simple puzzle game based on ciphers and discovering alien planets.
Welcome to Galaxy Center! Your one stop for all the planets!
The planets you will be traveling to are Epsilon, Kappa, and Zeta.
Each planet includes questions and challenges which the player must get through to move on to the next planet. Challenges are based on computer science and cryptography.
What inspired us
We wanted to help others learn cryptography and computer science basics in a fun manner. Traveling to various alien planets to learn this seemed like a great way to do this.
What we learned
We learned more aspects of JS and its integrations with HTML through elements. We also learned about
tags and how they can allow for better CSS formatting. How we built
We began building by creating the HTML files for each page, starting with the index. The JS files were created when they were needed. Once HTML files and their JS counterparts were mostly finished, CSS was added to format and style the webpage. The project was made mostly in the order that the game plays in.
Challenges we faced
With HTML, we didn't face many challenges. With JS, the chatbox feature on Zeta proved the most challenging, as having all user responses and translator responses show up proved difficult. With CSS, centering the labels and button created the greatest challenges.
