Inspiration

Alien Oasis: A Cosmic Sanctuary Built on Mobile in Meta Horizon Imagine crash-landing on an alien ocean planet, light-years from Earth. As you drift down from orbit, a shimmering, bioluminescent sea greets you—its waves pulsing with alien energy. Nestled on the shore is a mysterious house, half-submerged in plant life not of this world. Vines twist through broken windows, giant blossoms breathe softly, and glowing spores drift through the air.

This mobile world began as an experiment—an AI Dollhouse crafted in Meta Horizon Desktop. But it evolved. The original idea didn't match the vision, so I pivoted. The result: a surreal alien homestead in the stars, repurposing a GenAI alien model I had built for another project.

Now, the house serves as both refuge and mystery. Who built it? Why are the plants so alive? Are the aliens caretakers—or watchers?

What it does

The player is tasked at picking flowers that have overgrown at the Aliens Oasis. As you're picking flowers, you need to fight off the Aliens. When you release the Aliens they float off into orbit... This is scripted with AI Typescript. There are teleports that send you to the second floor of the house.

How we built it

To bring this cosmic mobile world to life, I combined GenAI TypeScript, AI-generated models, and a custom skybox to set the mood of a faraway alien ocean world. The build process took place in both the Meta Horizon desktop editor and the headset tools, allowing for hands-on spatial testing and immersive tweaking.

This project was born out of experimentation. I originally created an AI Dollhouse in Meta Horizon Desktop using generative tools. While it didn’t turn out as I envisioned, I repurposed parts of it—especially the AI-designed elements—and evolved the concept into something new: a mysterious alien home nestled in an otherworldly, bioluminescent sea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of scripting and coding with AI and building AI models in Horizon Desktop.

What we learned

I learned to use GenAI to create typescript, a skybox and models on Horizon Desktop.

Building Mobile with GenAI

  1. Integrating dynamic AI elements with TypeScript required adjustments and troubleshooting.
  2. Creative pivoting: The original Dollhouse didn’t meet expectations, so I had to pivot creatively, salvaging assets and reimagining the space.
  3. Balancing visuals and performance: Using detailed AI-generated models required optimization to keep the experience smooth, especially on mobile.
  4. Despite the challenges, the final result became something even more unique—an alien sanctuary built from unexpected beginnings.

What's next for Alien Oasis

The mobile journey doesn't stop here. Alien Oasis is just beginning to evolve. Here’s what’s coming next:

Interactive Alien Life: I'm working on adding ambient alien creatures that react to your presence—some curious, some cautious—using GenAI behavior patterns.

Environmental Storytelling: More hidden lore will be integrated throughout the house and landscape. Think: scattered relics, glowing symbols, or alien transmissions waiting to be decoded.

Custom Soundscape: A fully immersive audio experience is on the way—layered ambient sounds, alien whispers, and underwater echoes to bring the sea-world to life.

Mini Quests or Exploration Challenges: Visitors will be able to explore and "unlock" parts of the house by solving environmental puzzles or interacting with alien tech.

Multiplayer Moments: I’m exploring small collaborative experiences—like restoring parts of the house together, or uncovering secrets that only reveal when players sync actions.

This world will continue to grow as both a mysterious refuge and an evolving canvas for alien storytelling.
