Inspiration- the show X files was a big general inspiration for me (it is one of my favourite shows)
What it does- it is a blender file that depicts an unknown alien lifeform trapped in a lockdown cell, that is fortified with bullet proof glass.
How we built it- we modelled, textured, UV wrapped and unwrapped and lit the entire scene in Blender. Post processing was also done in Blender. (Also, extra info is in the Yt video)
Challenges we ran into- creative challenges like the alien's design, the lighting, and some technical challenges like how to create the desired effect for the sparks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of- we learned how to make realistic glass, learned better teamwork and time management, and also developed a better workflow.
What we learned- we learned how to model tiles properly, use good normal maps to create photorealism, and good post processing habits.
What's next for Alien Lockdown Cell- we might sell it as a product on turbosquid.com or free3d.com (2 of my favourite websites to use for selling models, I have sold multiple there before)
or put it up for online showcase. We might also use it for a horror themed video game or a short film.
