Alice in Algo-Land

We drew inspiration from the classic tale Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a story everyone knows with countless adaptations in film and animation. We wanted to give it a modern twist, because today people spend an overwhelming amount of time on social media and doom-scrolling. It’s a real issue in our society, and we wanted to explore it through a familiar narrative.

Throughout this project, we learned how to build a full production pipeline: developing a storyboard, communicating ideas visually, turning boards into scenes and frames, generating video, and finally editing everything together into a complete short film.

One of the biggest challenges was creating “perfect shots” that included multiple characters at once. It is surprisingly difficult to get the exact composition we want using text prompts alone. To work around this, we often start by generating a single character in a scene and then use a combination of Nanobanana and Ideogram to progressively add more characters. It requires patience, but it is how we achieved the final look.
